The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federation of Indian Corporate Lawyers (FICL), India to promote international arbitration as a preferred method of dispute resolution for resolving international disputes.
Under the MOU, SIAC and FICL will jointly explore organising conferences, seminars, workshops or other events on international arbitration in India and Singapore; conducting training programmes on international arbitration and the SIAC Rules for FICL’s members; and providing marketing support for each other’s international arbitration related events in India and Singapore.
The MOU was signed on 26 November 2022 by Ms Gloria Lim, Chief Executive Officer of SIAC, and Dr Ashok Sharma, Founder & CEO of FICL.
Dr Ashok Sharma, Founder and CEO of FICL, said, “We are pleased to be entering into this collaboration with SIAC. It will deepen ties and create greater synergies between our two organisations while enabling FICL to provide enhanced capacity-building programmes in international arbitration for our 1600 + members.”
Ms Gloria Lim, CEO of SIAC, said, “Indian parties are valued users of SIAC, and we are delighted to strengthen ties with the Indian business and legal community through this partnership with FICL. This MOU provides an excellent platform for SIAC to ensure that our services meet the needs of companies in India, and for SIAC to work with FICL to provide practical programmes that deepen Indian corporate lawyers’ knowledge of international arbitration law and practice.”
