The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Law School of Tsinghua University.
The MOU was signed at a signing ceremony in Beijing today by Ms Gloria Lim, Chief Executive Officer of SIAC, and Associate Professor Long Jun, Associate Dean of the Law School of Tsinghua University. Under the MOU, SIAC and the Law School of Tsinghua University will work together to place law students from the Law School of Tsinghua University in internships at SIAC. Both parties will also explore the possibility of inviting SIAC to recommend lecturer(s) or work together to design courses relating to SIAC/Singapore arbitration, and/or developing and/or conducting joint training programmes, seminars, and other events in China to promote the development and practice of international arbitration.
Associate Professor Long Jun, Associate Dean of the Law School of Tsinghua University, said, “We are very pleased to sign an agreement with SIAC to provide students with internship opportunities at SIAC and to explore in-depth cooperation with SIAC on courses, seminars, and training programmes. We believe that our collaboration will foster an international perspective in the next generation of arbitration practitioners and jointly promote the development of international commercial dispute resolution mechanisms.”
Ms Gloria Lim, CEO of SIAC, said, “SIAC is pleased to be collaborating with the Law School of Tsinghua University to provide internship opportunities to law students and to jointly develop programmes that will provide useful exposure to the practice of international arbitration. We believe that such efforts serve to support the development and nurture of the next generation of arbitration practitioners, and look forward to partnering with the Law School of Tsinghua University on this initiative.”
