The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb) today to promote international arbitration as a preferred method of dispute resolution for resolving international disputes.
Under the MOU, SIAC and Ciarb will explore jointly organised conferences, seminars, workshops or other events on international arbitration in Singapore and the United Kingdom, and the parties will provide marketing support for, and participate as a supporting organisation, for each other’s international arbitration events in Singapore and the United Kingdom.
The MOU was signed at a hybrid MOU signing ceremony held on the sidelines of the SIAC-Ciarb Debate 2024. Ms Gloria Lim, Chief Executive Officer, signed the MOU on behalf of SIAC, and Ms Catherine Dixon, Chief Executive Officer, signed the MOU on behalf of Ciarb.
Gloria Lim, CEO of SIAC, said, “SIAC and Ciarb share a common goal and interest in promoting understanding and use of international arbitration as a preferred method of dispute resolution for resolving international disputes. It is a pleasure to work collaboratively with Ciarb, a leading global membership body for ADR. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration.”
Catherine Dixon, CEO of Ciarb, said “International arbitration continues to grow at an exponential rate in Singapore. This is reflected in the continuing success of the Ciarb Singapore Branch. It was the natural choice to develop what is already a strong collaboration with SIAC, to further our shared aim of promoting international arbitration in Singapore and beyond. We look forward to working with SIAC to promote and grow the success of ADR.”
