The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the In-House Counsel Forum (IHCF) of Korea to promote international arbitration as a preferred method of dispute resolution for resolving international disputes.
Under the MOU, SIAC and IHCF will explore jointly organising conferences, seminars, workshops or other events on international arbitration in Korea and Singapore; conducting training programmes on international arbitration and SIAC for IHCF’s members; and providing marketing support for each other’s international arbitration related events in Korea.
The MOU was signed on 18 July 2022 by Ms Gloria Lim, Chief Executive Officer of SIAC, and Ms Songyi Son, Vice President of IHCF.
Ms Songyi Son, Vice President of IHCF, said, “We are pleased to be entering into this collaboration with SIAC. It will deepen ties between our two organisations while enabling IHCF to provide enhanced capacity-building programmes in international arbitration for our members.”
Ms Gloria Lim, CEO of SIAC, said, “Korean parties are valued users of SIAC, and we are delighted to strengthen ties with the Korean business community through this partnership with IHCF. This MOU provides an excellent platform for SIAC to ensure that our services meet the needs of companies in Korea, and for SIAC to work with IHCF to provide practical programmes that deepen in-house legal teams’ knowledge of international arbitration law and practice.”
